The Natural Solution to Prolong Shelf Life*
This antioxidant extract offers a robust solution to common shelf-life issues faced in the food industry. With its hydroxytyrosol-rich composition, it provides a natural and effective solution to preserve food: 

  • Enhancing stability and preventing oxidation

  • Inhibitory effect against listeria monocytogenes

Phenoliva Food Additive outperforms industrial standards in shelf-life studies. The extract can significantly lower peroxide values in water-oil emulsions, indicating less fat oxidation and longer product shelf-life. The performance tests included:

  • Margarine, sauces and breakfast cereals have the problem of becoming rancid over the shelf life due to the oxidation of fats. The addition of our antioxidant extract allows to prolong the product shelf life by up to 40%.
  • Fruit fillings and fruit juices have the problem that their natural pigments degrade, which leads to a loss of colour. Our ingredient successfully protects the degradation of natural anthocyanins.
