Gaia Tech partners with Kielder Agro Group to expand product portfolio
Gaia Tech has secured fresh funding from strategic partner Kielder Agro Group to accelerate the development of its upcycled ingredients platform.
Agrifood sidestreams shouldn't go to waste. By transforming high-volume biomass like olive pomace, rapeseed cake, or spent coffee grounds into functional ingredients, the startup is enabling sustainable supply chains at industrial scale. The new capital will directly fund the research, development, and scaling of the core product portfolio alongside expansion into new ingredients.
Key milestones from this round include securing new equity funding by Kielder Agro Group SA, converting a loan from the W.A. de Vigier Foundation into equity, and welcoming Eduardo Pares, CEO of Kielder Agro Group, to the Board of Directors. He stated:
“With Gaia, we are taking an important step towards Kielder’s ambition to build a circular bioeconomy platform for high-value bioactive ingredients and beyond.”
Claudio Reinhard, CEO of Gaia Tech AG, added:
“This is a significant step for Gaia Tech. With Kielder’s industry network, global market presence and access to valuable biomasses, we are well-positioned to bring our upcycling solutions to where they are needed most.”
The startup thanks its new investors, the existing shareholders, and the early partners like the Migros Pioneer Fund, Tech4Impact, Venture Kick, W.A. de Vigier, the Foundation for Technological Innovation, and the Economic Development Agency of Bern for believing in its vision.
